The most concentrated aviation activity in Florida can be found in the Southeast Florida Metropolitan Area. Palm Beach International, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International, Miami International, Key West International and The Florida Keys Marathon Airport all provide scheduled air carrier service to Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. Supporting these air carrier airports is a strong system of General Aviation (GA) airports which provide facilities for business, recreational, flight training, and other types of aviation activities. Many of these airports can be located on the Unofficial Web Site, South Florida Flying. Palm Beach County operates Palm Beach International, North Palm Beach County General Aviation Airport, Palm Beach County Park (Lantana), and Palm Beach County Glades (Pahokee) Airports. The Boca Raton Airport Authority operates the Boca Raton Airport. The Miami-Dade Aviation Department operates Miami International, Opa-locka Executive, Kendall-Tamiami Executive, Homestead General Aviation and the Dade-Collier Training and Transition airports. Monroe County operates Key West International and The Florida Keys Marathon Airports.  The City of Pompano Beach operates the Pompano Beach Airpark. The Broward County Aviation Department operates the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International and North Perry Airports, and the City of Fort Lauderdale operates the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Heliport and the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport with its adjacent Free Trade Zone. This airport is also one of the most active business airports in the U.S..

The Southeast Florida Metropolitan Area is the fastest growing area in the State of Florida. Miami-Dade International Airport leads the nation in international cargo trade and is a focal point for Latin American commerce. The Southeast Florida Metropolitan Area CFASPP Steering Committee is a vital component of the intermodal planning efforts throughout the State of Florida. They are also actively supported by the MPO Advisory Committee, the Broward County, Miami Urbanized Area, and Palm Beach, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Florida Department of Transportation District FOUR and District SIX. The Committee's continuing review of the Florida Aviation System Plan and the Strategic Planning component is a critical link in the ability of the State of Florida and the Region to plan appropriate for future visitor, business, and population growth.

Available for review and download are meeting minutes and Committee by-laws. Participation by the public and interested individuals and organizations is encouraged.
