Project Description
Nomination submissions for the FDOT aviation awards are accepted at any time until May 31st of each year. Airport sponsors and consultants are encouraged to nominate those individuals and projects worthy of recognition. The ASO typically receives a number of nominations for each category. The result is a competitive selection process that identifies the most worthy projects and individuals. Information on the award categories and procedures for submitting nominations can be found at http://www.dot.state.fl.us/aviation/aviationawards.shtm. All nominations must be received by the ASO no later than May 31, 2019, to be considered.

The 2018 winners were:
- Commercial Service Airport of the Year: Tallahassee International Airport
- General Aviation Airport of the Year: Miami Opa-Locka Executive Airport
- Commercial Service Airport Project of the Year: Orlando International Airport - Intermodal Terminal Facility
- General Aviation Airport Project of the Year: Destin Executive Airport - Air Traffic Control Tower
- Aviation Professional of the Year: Mr. Clifford Graham, Melbourne International Airport 
- Distinguished Aviation Professional: Ms. Deborah T. Marino, Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority

Nominations for 2019 are currently being accepted. All nominations must be received by FDOT no later than May 31, 2019, to be considered. Information on the award categories and procedures for submitting nominations can be found at http://www.dot.state.fl.us/aviation/aviationawards.shtm. For your convenience, web links to the nomination forms are also available at the bottom of this page.

FDOT presents an award certificate honoring the recipient in each category at the July CFASPP Statewide meeting. The meeting is held just prior to the Florida Airports Council (FAC) Annual Conference at the conference venue.
